Problem: The residence required a third bedroom for the growing family but a room add-on was not in the budget. Existing space had to accommodate the need but with the minimum of household disruption.

Better solution: The Railset Web Partition assembly divided the family great room. Two web frames separated by connector plates created a pocket door partition and utility chase. The pre-assembled Railset frames and off-site panel fabrication eliminated the dust and time of a traditional stud and drywall partition. Panels were clipped to the square, level, and flush frame. The weekend Railset installation provided two brothers with a room of their own.

The pocket door partition sectioned a large living room creating a more intimate living room and adding a much needed fourth bedroom. A family member with severe allergies required an alternative to typical stud/drywall installation that would generate dust from cutting wood studs and taping drywall.

The open cavity of the Web partition was filled with dense insulation to reduce sound transmission between the two rooms. Decorative panels were fixed to the Web on both sides of the partition and the Web and panels extended to the existing header and wing wall.
